On the weekend of 24 and 25th September Kirklees Lib Dem Council Group and supporters walked and rode the 72 miles of the Kirklees Way to raise money for to raise money for the Mayor’s Charity – the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.
The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice exists to provide care and support for children in the Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield areas with life-limiting conditions.
The 14 strong member of the council group were joined by family, friends and supporters to undertake the treck which they split into 12 sections of approximately 5 miles each taking them right around the borders of Kirklees, through historic towns, picturesque villages, moor land, woodland and past many significant sites.
The Mayor, Cllr Eric Firth and his wife wave doff the walkers as they set out from St Paul’s Church in Hanging Heaton.
